FIVEFOLD STUDY OF THE WORD PARACLETE AND THE MEANING.

A fivefold study from the New Testament, a study in a subject I am I am persuaded that will be of wonderful enrichment of every Christian heart.

  1. John 14:16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
  2. John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things (hold on this promise), and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
  3. John 15:26  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 15:27  And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (Notice the order “He” first “Ye: next.)

  • John 16:7  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

John 16:8  And when he is come (to you), he will reprove the world(through you he will do it all) of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Before we go to point five we will look at three exoplanetary remarks on the preceding four.

  1. All the verses in the four points are connected with each by reason of the fact that they all speak of the same subject; the third MEMBER of the ever adorable Divine Tri-Unity of the GODHEAD, the HOLY SPIRIT.
  2. These four verses are the most closely interlocked in as much as the each refer the HOLY SPIRIT AS THE COMFORTER.
  3. That word COMFORTER in the four points above of our English version of our Bible represent the compound Greek word paraklētos par-ak’-lay-tos An intercessor, consoler: – advocate, comforter.

Paraclete comes from the Koine Greek word παράκλητος (paráklētos). A combination of “para” (beside/alongside) and “kalein” (to call), the word first appears in the Bible in John 14:16. … The word is filled with a complex meaning: the Spirit replaces Jesus, is an advocate and a witness, but also consoles the disciples.

The prepositionary   prefix “Para” means “alongside of” just as it does in our English word “parallel”, while the main body of the word “ak’-lay-tos” is from the Greek verb in English “kleo” meaning one who is “called alongside” meaning it is our encourager, our strengthener, our supporter, our guide, our sympathiser and a great deal more. It is one of the most expressive words in the Greek vocabulary. See; https://www.simplybible.com/f778-word-study-paraclete.htm

Paraklētos par-ak’-lay-tos which turned into an English word Paraclete.

Blessed be His Name, that dear Paraclete is mine and He is yours if you are a blood washed, spirit born member of the true ecclesia, the church of GODs dear SON JESUS CHRIST, He himself started when He was here on earth called the Church of Jerusalem, the New Covenant Church.

Now we will get to the fifth and final text but does not come in the Gospel according to John but it does flow from the pen of that same Apostle called the one Jesus loved it comes from the first epistle of the same Apostle called 1Jn 2:1

  • 1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

Let us see what John is telling us; My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.( that you do not knowingly, willingly, and much less wilfully commit sin) And if any man sin(notice he does not say if Christian sin, or any saint sin, we all are all  still very human), “if any man sin” (is what He is saying) we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: ( It does not disrupt the believers union with Gods dear Son? Thank God “NO!” it does not.)

If any man sin we have an advocate with the Father God, Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour, CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS. Look at the marvellous hidden connection between this verse in 1John 2:1 and the preceding ones in the Gospel of Joh 15:26 ; Joh 14:26-27, Joh 16:7 and Joh 16:8. Lies in that word “ADVOCATE” in 1 John 2:1 because in the original Greek language our New Testament Bible is written in, the word “advocate” is the same as in Joh 15:26 ; Joh 14:26-27, Joh 16:7 and Joh 16:8 in the Greek it is the expressive word paraklētos par-ak’-lay-tos An intercessor, consoler: – advocate, comforter; and in the English it is that wonderful word PARACLETE.

If any man sin we have a PARACLETE with the FATHER to WHOM we must be RECONCILED with at ALL TIME, JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS.

Now fellow students of the word, this is those are the five texts we will build upon as the superstructure of the message we are getting from Gods word.

We the Christian believers are the only people in this world who has found the secret of true joy! We not say that any bravado, but with deep sincere conviction. We do not deny for a moment, that the God forgetting worldling has a certain kind of happiness as he plunges through his round of worldly and voluptuous pleasures and happiness, but there is a universe of difference near happiness and real joy! Happiness is purely circumstantial all depending on circumstances. By contrast joy is utterly independent by exterior factors.

We Christians have found a joy no tongue or language can express it is like wave, a deep overwhelming joy springing up within the soul we even find joy in sorrow because we know we have the Paraclete, the Advocate with in us and with the Father at all times.

IF YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE PARACLETE, THE HOLY SPIRIT YOU HAVE GOD THE SON AND GOD THE FATHER THE HOLY TRINITY IN YOU THE THREE IN ONE GOD.

Amen.

THE HOLY SPIRIT-THE PARACLETE.

Please pray the Holy Spirit-The Paraclete will use these sermons and studies to bring many to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
