Jesus ends His Ministry in Judea and;
John the Baptist Exalts Christ.
Jesus finished His Ministry in Judea and went up to Galilee but did not take the long road the Jews normally take to avoid going through Samaria but went straight to a place called Sychar near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there.

Jesus returned via Samaria to Galilee and we see The Rewards Of Service John 4:28-38, The Growth Of Faith John 4:39-45 and lastly The Reward Of Trusting Jesus’ Word John4:46-54.
Back in Galilee after a year in Judea;
Jesus Ministers to Great Crowds.
Nazareth’s loss was Capernaum’s gain. The people in the latter city recognized that His teaching was authoritative. His words were convicting and impelling.

Matthew 15 ;29-31
And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:
Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said;
I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
And Jesus saith unto them;
How many loaves have ye?
And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.

HEALING AND FEEDING THE MULTITUDES
Our Lord’s mission of grace and truth was at its height. His help was sought with the utmost eagerness. Large numbers of sick were cast at His feet in hot haste. The crumb was given to the woman of Canaan, but whole loaves were distributed to the crowds of Jews, because it was befitting that they should have a full chance to appreciate and accept Christ. For a brief moment they glorified the God of Israel, but the spasm of gratitude was transient. “His own” rejected Jesus. They would have His miracles, but would not own His claims. Take care that you do not become content with getting His help; love Him for Himself.
Do not suppose that these miracles were confined to His earthly life. He is still the great storehouse of divine and healing energy. He is still moved with compassion, and longs to help each weary and sin-sick soul. His thought still is lest they faint by the way. The wilderness can place no bar on “the saving strength of His right hand.” Disciples especially are meant to be intermediaries and mediators. They take and give.

HEALING AND FEEDING THE MULTITUDES
In Mar_7:31 we learn that the Lord left Tyre, traveled north to Sidon, then eastward across the Jordan, south through the region of the Decapolis. There, near the Sea of Galilee, He healed the lame, the blind, the mute, the maimed, and many others. The astonished crowd glorified the God of Israel. The presumption is strong that this was a Gentile neighborhood. The people, associating Jesus and His disciples with Israel, correctly deduced that the God of Israel was working in their midst.
15:32 Careless (or critical) readers, confusing this incident with the feeding of the 5,000, have accused the Bible of duplication, contradiction, and miscalculation. The fact is that the two incidents are quite distinct, and supplement rather than contradict each other.
After three days with the Lord, the multitude had run out of food. He would not let them go away hungry; they might collapse on the way.
15:33, 34 Again His disciples became frustrated at the impossible task of feeding such a mob; this time they had only seven loaves and a few little fish.
15:35, 36 As in the case of the 5,000, Jesus seated the people, gave thanks, broke the loaves and fish and gave them to His disciples for distribution. He expects His disciples to do what they can; then He steps in and does what they can’t.
15:37-39 After the people were filled, there were seven large baskets of surplus food. The number fed was four thousand men, besides women and children. In the next chapter, we shall see that the statistics relating to the two feeding miracles are significant (16:8-12). Every detail of the Bible narrative is charged with meaning. After dismissing the crowd, our Lord went by boat to Magdala, on the west shore of the Sea of Galilee.
