BAAL WORSHIP AT PEOR
Baal Worship at Peor. Israel settled and remained in Shittim, and the people began to play the prostitute with the women of Moab [by being unfaithful to God].
For they invited the Israelites to the sacrifices of their gods, and the Israelites ate [food offered to idols] and bowed down to Moab’s gods.
So Israel joined themselves to Baal of Peor [in worship]. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel
BALAAM’S FINAL ORACLE
Balaam’s final Oracle. The oracle of him who hears the words of God And knows the knowledge of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, but having his eyes open and uncovered
BALAM’S DONKEY AND THE ANGEL
When the donkey saw the Angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, so Balaam was angry and he struck the donkey [a third time] with his staff.
And the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you that you have struck me these three times?”
BALAM SENT FOR TO CURSE ISRAEL
Balaam sent for, to curse Israel. Now please come, curse these people for me, for they are too powerful for me; perhaps I will be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know [your reputation] that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”
TO THE CHURCH IN PERGAMUM
“And to the angel (divine messenger) of the church in Pergamum write: “These are the words of Him who has and wields the sharp two-edged sword [in judgment]:
