So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.

Moses’ song: Israel’s response. But Jeshurun (Israel) became fat and kicked [at God]. You became fat, thick, sleek, and obstinate! Then he abandoned God who had made him, And scorned the Rock of his salvation.

JOSHUA TO LEAD ISRAEL

Joshua Commissioned to Lead Israel. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the time for you to die is near; call Joshua, and present yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, so that I may commission him.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting.

JOSHUA TO SUCCEED MOSES

Joshua to Succeed Moses. It is the LORD your God who will cross ahead of you; He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua is the one who will go across before you [to lead you], just as the LORD has said.
