Joshua Renews the Covenant. And there, in the presence of the sons of Israel, Joshua wrote on the stones a copy of the Law of Moses which Moses had written.
THE PENALTY OF SERVING FALSE GODS
The penalty of serving false gods .”It is not with you alone that I am making this covenant and this oath,
but with those [future Israelites] who are not here with us today, as well as with those who stand here with us today in the presence of the LORD our God
THE COVENANT RENEWED IN MOAB
The Covenant Renewed in Moab. These are the words of the covenant which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant which He made with them at Horeb (Sinai).

Moses brings the renewed tables of the law. hen Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hand, he did not know that the skin of his face was shining [with a unique radiance] because he had been speaking with God.

You shall put the Mercy Seat on the top of the Ark, and in the Ark you shall put the Testimony which I will give you.
THE COVENANT MADE AND SEALED BY BLOOD
So Moses took the blood [which had been placed in the large basins] and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.
CONQUEST OF CANAAN PROMISED
When My Angel goes before you and brings you to [the land of] the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, I will reject them and completely destroy them.
MOSES RECEIVES JEHOVAH’S WORDS IN THE MOUNT
. The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may believe and trust in you forever.” Then Moses repeated the words of the people to the LORD.
THE COVENANT BETWEEN JACOB AND LABAN
The Covenant Between Jacob And Laban. Laban said: ”So come now, let us make a covenant, you and I, and let it serve as a witness between you and me.”
So Jacob took a stone and set it up as a [memorial] pillar.
