THE BLESSING AND THE CURSE

The blessing and the curse. “Behold, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse–
the blessing, if you listen to and obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am commanding you today;
and the curse, if you do not listen to and obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by following (acknowledging, worshiping) other gods which you have not known.

LOVE AND SERVER THE LORD

Love and Serve the Lord. Therefore, thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

MOSES INTERCESSION FOR A REBELLIOUS PEOPLE

Moses’ intercession for a rebellious people. For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.

NOT BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Not Because of Righteousness. “Do not say in your heart when the LORD your God has driven them out before you, ‘Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land,’ but because of the wickedness of these nations the LORD is dispossessing them before you.

WHAT THE LORD DOES FOR HIS PEOPLE

What the Lord does for his people. He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your [olive] oil, the offspring of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which He swore to your fathers to give you.

THE DECALOGUE REPEATED

The Decalogue repeated. ‘You shall have no other gods before Me. ‘You shall not make for yourself an idol [as an object to worship], or any likeness (form, manifestation) of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth……

THE COMMAND TO LEAVE MOUNT HOREB

The Command to Leave Horeb. “The LORD our God spoke to us at Horeb, saying, ‘You have stayed long enough on this mountain.
