THE LINE OF DESCENT OF GOD’S SPOKESMEN
The Line Of Descent Of God’s Spokesmen. These are [the same] Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.”
They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt; these are [the same] Moses and Aaron.
MAKING BRICKS WITHOUT STRAW
Making Bricks Without Straw. The very same day Pharaoh gave orders to the [Egyptian] taskmasters in charge of the people and their [Hebrew] foremen, saying,
“You will no longer give the people straw to make brick as before; let them go and gather straw for themselves.
MOSES RETURNS TO EGYPT AND MEET AARON
Moses Returns to Egypt. So Moses took his wife [Zipporah] and his sons [Gershom and Eliezer] and seated them on donkeys, and returned to the land of Egypt. Moses also took the staff of God in his hand.
GOD’S PROMISES OVERCOME MOSES’ RELUCTANCE
God’s Promises Overcome Moses’ Reluctance. Then the anger of the LORD was kindled and burned against Moses; He said, “Is there not your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know that he speaks fluently. Also, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be overjoyed.
MOSES SENT TO DELIVER ISRAEL
Moses Sent To Deliver Israel. God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “You shall say this to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”
GOD’S MESSAGE FROM THE BUSH
God’s Message From The Bush. The Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing flame of fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was on fire, yet it was not consumed.
Moses Flees to Midian. When Pharaoh heard about this matter, he tried to kill Moses. Then Moses fled from Pharaoh’s presence and took refuge in the land of Midian, where he sat down by a well.
ISREAL INCREASE GREATLY IN EGYPT
Israel Increases Greatly in Egypt. Then Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation,
but the Israelites were prolific and increased greatly; they multiplied and became extremely strong, so that the land was filled with them.
JOSEPH LOVES UNTIL HIS DEATH
Joseph Loves Until His Death . But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? [Vengeance is His, not mine.]
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]. Gen 50:19-20
JOSEPH VISITS HIS DYING FATHER
Joseph Visits His Dying Father. And when the time drew near for Israel to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh and [promise to] deal loyally and faithfully with me. Please do not bury me in Egypt
