JOSHUA RENEWS THE COVENANT

Joshua Renews the Covenant. And there, in the presence of the sons of Israel, Joshua wrote on the stones a copy of the Law of Moses which Moses had written.

THE FALL OF AI

The Fall of Ai . Now the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not fear or be dismayed (intimidated). Take all the men of war with you and set out, go up to Ai; see, I have given the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land into your hand.

ISRAEL CROSSES THE JORDAN

Israel Crosses the Jordan. Joshua got up early in the morning; then he and all the children of Israel set out from Shittim and came to the Jordan, and they spent the night there before they crossed [the river].

WHAT THE LORD DOES FOR HIS PEOPLE

What the Lord does for his people. He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your [olive] oil, the offspring of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which He swore to your fathers to give you.

THE PENALTY FOR THE MURDERER

. ‘But if he struck his victim down [intentionally] with an iron object so that he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall certainly be put to death.

THE BORDERS OF THE PROMISED LAND

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
