SACRIFICES PLEASEING TO GOD A SANCITIFY DAILY LIFE

Let love of your fellow believers continue.
Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers especially among the family of believers–being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

A KINGDOM THAT CANNOT BE SHAKEN

His voice shook the earth [at Mount Sinai] then, but now He has given a promise, saying, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE [starry] HEAVEN.”

DO NOT GROW WEARY ENDURE CHASTENING

If we are God’s children, we will not look on suffering as a punishment. Chastening it may be, but not the penalty of sin.

JESUS, FOUNDER AND PERFECTER OF OUR FAITH

“MY SON, DO NOT MAKE LIGHT OF THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, AND DO NOT LOSE HEART and GIVE UP WHEN YOU ARE CORRECTED BY HIM;
FOR THE LORD DISCIPLINES and CORRECTS THOSE WHOM HE LOVES, AND HE PUNISHES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES and WELCOMES

BY FAITH “THE NOBLE ARMY OF MATYRS”

For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets,
who by faith subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions,
extinguished the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty and unbeatable in battle, putting enemy forces to flight.

FAITH’S TRIUMPHS FROM ABEL TO ABRAHAM

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

THE NEW AND LIVING WAY OPEN TO US

Note the contrast between the standing of the priests and the sitting of the Priest. The one indicated incompleteness, the other a finished work.

CHRIST SACRIFICE ONCE FOR ALL

And in accordance with this will [of God] we [who believe in the message of salvation] have been sanctified [that is, set apart as holy for God and His purposes] through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) once for all.

THE ONE SACRIFICE THAT PUTS AWAY SIN

Therefore, it was necessary for the [earthly] copies of the heavenly things to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves required far better sacrifices than these.

REDEMTION THOUGH THE BLOOD OF CHRIST

We are led to consider Christ’s high-priestly work.
