HOLINESS AND THE PRIESTS

Holiness and the Priests. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: ‘No one shall defile himself [that is, become ceremonially unclean] for the dead among his people [by touching a corpse or assisting in preparing it for burial], except for his relatives who are nearest to him, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, and his brother, also his virgin sister, who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may become unclean.

THE LIFE OF THE FLESH IS IN THE BLOOD

The life of the flesh is in the blood. Any man from the house of Israel, or any stranger living temporarily among you, who eats any blood, against that person I shall set My face and I will cut him off from his people [excluding him from the atonement made for them]. [Eze_33:25]
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement, by reason of the life [which it represents].’ [Rom_3:24-26

LAWS ABOUT LEPROSY

Laws about leprosy. The priest shall look at the diseased spot on the skin of his body, and if the hair in the infection has turned white and the infection appears deeper than the skin of his, it is an infection of leprosy; when the priest has looked at him, he shall pronounce him [ceremonially] unclean.

THE LORD ACCEPTS AARON’S OFFERING

The Lord accepts Aaron’s offering. And it happened on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel; his sons and the elders of Israel; and he said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering, [each] without blemish, and offer both before the LORD.

THINGS FORBIDDEN AND THE PORTION FOR THE PRIESTS

Things forbidden and the portion for the priests. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘You shall not eat any fat from an ox, a sheep, or a goat. Moreover, you are not to eat any blood [of any kind], whether of bird or animal, in any of your dwelling places.
