OUTLINE EPISTLE OF JUDE

The Epistle was probably addressed to churches eastward of Judaea, among whom Jude had labored; and was probably written about A.D. 66. There are remarkable similarities between this Epistle and II Peter, indicating close communication between the two writers, as they looked out on the heretical teachers of the age and the low state of prevailing morals.

THE APOSTLE’S JOY IN SUPPORT AND OPPOSITION

Beloved, you are acting faithfully in what you are providing for the brothers, and especially when they are strangers;
and they have testified before the church of your love and friendship. You will do well to [assist them and] send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.

WARNING CONCERNING THE ANTICHRISTS

Children, it is the last hour [the end of this age]; and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming [the one who will oppose Christ and attempt to replace Him], even now many antichrists (false teachers) have appeared, which confirms our belief that it is the last hour.

CHRIST OUR ADVOCATE NEW COMMANDMENT OF LOVE

Christ our advocate the new commandment of love. My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way–purpose, thought, and action].
