REDEMTION THOUGH THE BLOOD OF CHRIST

We are led to consider Christ’s high-priestly work.

THE EARTHLY HOLY PLACE THE IMPERFECT WAY OF APPROACH TO GOD

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

JESUS,HIGH PRIEST OF A BETTER COVENANT

However, God finds fault with them [showing its inadequacy] when He says, “BEHOLD, THE DAYS WILL COME, SAYS THE LORD, WHEN I WILL MAKE and RATIFY A NEW COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AND WITH THE HOUSE OF JUDAH

JESUS COMPARED TO MELCHIZEDEK

For it is attested [by God] of Him, “YOU (Christ) ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.” [Psa_110:4]

THE PRIESTLY ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham as he returned from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
and Abraham gave him a tenth of all [the spoil].

THE CERTAINTY OF GOD’S PROMISE

But, beloved, even though we speak to you in this way, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and of things that accompany salvation.

WARNING AGAINST APOSTASY PRESS ON UNTO FULL GROWTH

For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant.

JESUS OUR DIVINELY APPOINTED GREAT HIGH PRIEST

Jesus became the source of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him, being designated by God as High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

A REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD ENTERED BY FAITH AND PRAYER

Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience [as those who died in the wilderness].

A REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD THAT JOSHUA COULD NOT GIVE

“AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS”
