TEMPTATIONS ON THE PINNACLE

The Temptation of Jesus

Matthew 4:5-7

The sinner’s Saviour, Jesus Christ, to know Him is to love Him.

Matthew 1 and Luke 3 shows the Genealogy of Jesus Christ and the name God chose for His Son, what the word means and stand for.

Note of the reactions and what happened surrounding the announcement by the messenger of God, Angel of the Lord named Gabriel (Luke 1:19 and 26).

Even the stars and Gods created constellation reacted to the good news; we saw the Angels in Heaven in array because of this good news. God the Creator has set the motions in action as promised by his prophets to save His people from sin and the damnation of the entire world.

Notice the reaction here on earth what happened when “??? ???? ??” called “?????” by His earthly father, Joseph, a common man, a tradesman, a carpenter. Jesus was born in a stable, His first bed was a manger filled with straw covered with the love of his mother. We had seen what happened when men that followed the prophets, looking at the stars of heaven, realized the ??????? ?? ?????????? had been ????.

We also saw how Satan and his human followers reacted in planning to kill this ???????? ??? ?? ???. Who and what Satan used trying to protect his domain, killing the children in Bethlehem, Matthew 2:18, and Jeremiah 31:15.  Again we saw the messenger of God saving the Child Jesus from this world by getting the child’s earthly father to take him to Egypt; likewise, the prophets are fulfilled for the “Out of Egypt have I called my son.” Hosea 11:1, Matthew 2:15.

We read that God sends a man called John the Baptist to prepare the people for the coming ???????, ??? ?? ???, ??? ???? ??. Matthew 3:1-12.Mark 1:1-11,Luke 1:5-25, John 1:19-28

In Mathew 3:17, Mark 1:11, and Luke 3:22 ;

We saw the GOD JEHOVAH HIMSELF witnessed that Jesus is His SON in which He is well pleased when Jesus was baptized. We will see two more places in scripture where God Spoke to Jesus as His son. Matthew 17:5, John 12:28. In 2 Peter 1:17, we see Peter witnessing it as well. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and not just a prophet as some “prophets” claim He is.

The twelve-year-old Jesus stunned the grownups and the eldered.

His first witnesses about Himself and His Father God in Heaven, to His earthly Mother and Father. Jesus first recorded words in the Bible;

“How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” Luke 2:49

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:52

After God declared Jesus as His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased Matthew 3:17 and Luke 3:22.  The Spirit led Jesus up into the wilderness and was tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1-10, Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1-13. Satan did not tempt Jesus right away, “No!” He waited until Jesus was hungry, a perceived weak point or moment after Jesus has fasted forty days and forty nights and afterward hungered, Matthew 4:2-3, Luke 4:2-3.

Now, look at the tactics Satan uses! The same as what he used on Eve in the Garden of Eden and the same he uses against us today still. We have read at how Charles Spurgeon explains it to us in his sermon;

??????? ??????????“.

“??? ?ℎ? ????? ???? ???? ℎ??, ?? ???? ?? ??? ??? ??  GOD, ??????? ?ℎ?? ????? ?ℎ?? ?? ?? ???? ?????. ????ℎ?? 4:3

We also saw where to find and how to use the Word of GOD the Bible if we are tempted and tested by Satan in the sermon

?????????????????? ?? ???? ?? ??? ??? ?? ??? ??”

Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Today we are going to study and see how Jesus kept on  dealing with the temptations of this adversary of God and the entire Human race, called the Devil, the old serpent of Genesis 3:1, by learning and reading the sermon called;

TEMPTATIONS ON THE PINNACLE

?? ?????? ?????? ????????.

“Then the devil took him up into the holy city, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him,

If you be the Son of God, cast yourself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning you: and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone. Jesus said to him, It is written

again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Matthew 4:5-7.

New Covenant Israelite! "And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;  Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee."  Rom 11:17 -18
